Readers' Guide

 

1. Library Policies

 

The SHUFE law library serves the University’s students, faculty, staff, and other authorized members of the scholarly community.  In order to provide an environment conducive to research, to preserve the collections, and to ensure ongoing access to them, users are expected to respect the rules and regulations around use of library materials and property and to assist in the protection of library materials. the SHUFE law library promotes an attitude and atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation and consideration among librarians and staff, and expect the same from library users.

 

 

Every user of the Library has a responsibility to:

 

1. safeguard the integrity of library resources

2. respect the restrictions placed on access to and the use of those resources

3. report to library officers the theft, destruction, or misuse of library resources by others

4. respect the rights of others to the quiet use of the library

5. respect the authority of the librarians and staff whose job it is to protect library resources

 

The following are prohibited:

1. illegal copying

2. the systematic exploitation for profit of library resources or materials

3. unauthorized removal of materials or property from the library

4. destruction, defacement, or abuse of library materials or property

5. use of library privileges for reasons other than personal research

6. possession of alcohol or other controlled substances

7. possession of weapons of any kind including but not limited to firearms, knives, razor blades, mace, or pepper spray.

8.  animals are not permitted in the library with the exception of service animals.

9.  students, staff, faculty members, researchers, visitors, and other users who fail to comply with library rules and regulations are subject to revocation of library privileges, disciplinary action, and legal prosecution.  All library users are subject to the fines and penalties of the University as well as the laws of the People's Republic of China.

 

2.Borrowing

 

(1) With SHUFE ID Card

 

Borrowing without fees within the SHUFE law Library is extended to individuals who is a law school student and is holding a current SHUFE ID.ID cards are not transferable.

(2) With Special Library Card

 

1)Temporary Borrowing Card.

Every member of other department of SHUFE may require this kind of card with the charge of ¥50/Semester.

¥200 deposit is needed for borrowing privileges of 6 books and ¥300 for 10.

As for the Foreign language books,the extra deposit is according to the list price.

Please show your deposit receipt when you return all of the borrowings.

 

2)Temporary Reading Card

School teachers,degree students (seminar students included), foreign students and full-time adult education students may purchase a temporary reading card with ¥25/semester.

 

3)Visiting reading Card

Independent researchers not affiliated with SHUFE (for example, authors and other non-SHUFE affiliates with documented research needs)may obtain a Visiting reading Card that allows in-building use of general collections materials.

 

Application for a Visiting Reading Card should be made in person at the Library circulation Office.

¥5/week

 

4)General Purpose Reading Card

Teachers and students of SHUFE with the need of doing research in other libraries in Shanghai(for example the Shanghai library and other university 's library)may require this card from the library.

Please bring with you the work permit or student certificate  and a one inch photo.¥25/year
